In doctors we trust – especially when they admit to bias

Cornell Chronicle writes about Professor Sah's latest research, "Effect of physician disclosure of specialty bias on patient trust and treatment choice" that has just been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences - When surgeons revealed their bias toward their own specialty, their patients were more likely to perceive them as trustworthy. And patients were then more likely to follow their recommendation to have surgical treatment.
